MUSINGS
December 2023
As we're getting to the end of the year, I've been thinking about the adventures of 2023, and want to spend some time thanking the amazing people that have made the year so special for me.
Starting the year back in January, where I held my first ever Sonic Inducer Presents at the Signature Brew in Haggerston (which has now become my "home" venue!) with the fabulous Pixi Ink and Bloom's Taxonomy with Becky Boo on the visuals. Then in February, it was the inaugural Cable Festival in Stoke-On-Trent curated by the amazing Scott Evans with so many amazing acts - Felicite, Analogue Electronic Whatever, Jamie Jamal, Rodney Cromwell and many others. It was the first time I'd played as Sonic Inducer at a Festival & these wonderful people made me feel welcome in their worlds and gave me lots of support and encouragement 🙂
The fabulous and extremely hard-working Tom Stanford (+Crew) at CEM put on the Plastic Den stage at the Strawberry Fair in Cambridge at the beginning of June. A great time had by all and was fun to also steward there as well. Many amazing acts like Rayne Gel, Amethysts, Massive Cat Person, Maisin and Filter Dread filling the tent with a wide variety of electronic sounds. A special shout out to Bloom's Taxonomy for giving me a lift there as the trains weren't working that day!
My new debut album, Darkest Before Dawn, for release at the end of June & coinciding with the 2nd SIP at Signature Brew. This time, we had Evey, Qubik, Masal and Martin Christie (as well as me too!) playing with the visuals provided by Alien 101 & 2 digit visuals. A fantastic atmosphere of people made this a really special night - I saw many smiles and heard lots of laughter - perfect!
In the summer, Anam Gu Anam remixed one of my tracks, Approaching the Storm, and created a cool trippy video for it. Check out his YouTube channel for it 🙂
Jamie Morden & the Geosysnths show - I was lucky enough to appear twice on Jamie's show - they're always really interesting & lovely people joining in the chat. I really enjoyed these 🙂. I must make it up to Blackpool one of these days to play at one of the EMOM nights Jamie puts on there...
Over the year, a number of radio stations, Spotify and YouTube playlists have added me to their reels - demidolly, Sword Radio, Groove It, Chill n Focus, chapasongs, Yassine DJS, Circle8 and many many more so thank you for spreading the word! And a special nod to Kev & the HomeBrew Electronica show - I'm super grateful for you playing my tunes, supporting my album and coming to my gigs as well, thank you for your support!
I also arranged & went on Tour in October, to coincide with the release of my EP Dreams Released. So many people & venues involved in this, and I am so grateful for you all supporting me have one of my long-standing dreams come true, if only in part. Thanks Covid. Scott Evans in Stoke on Trent, organising a mini Cable Fest with AstroFaun, Filter Sequence, Die Dan Die and more - again, such warm and welcoming people, it was great to hang out with you! Sheffield - with James Glew, Brawny & Hexial. Brawny was instrumental in helping me with the venue, Haggler's Corner & getting the night run... I didn't know it at the time, but that when the Covid struck. And my buddies Josh & Michelle - putting a roof over my head for those nights & looking after me when I wasn't feeling great - thank you!! At this point, I had to take a break from the tour & the amazing people I was working with, all stepped up to make sure the nights went ahead without me & everyone had a wonderful time - I'm so grateful that noone else missed out! James Bragg (Hypderdust) took on running both the Bristol and London shows for me. Bristol also had the splendid noodlr and Payta Easton, London had Nata in Furs and Bloom's taxonomy too. Brighton saw Evey take the helm with Bloom's Taxonomy & Alien Alarms. I mustn't forget all the venues involved supporting us smaller artists (go to your local venues!! They need us!!) - Captain's Bar (Stoke), Haggler's Corner (Sheffield), Dareshack (Bristol), The Rose Hill (Brighton), Twenty-One (Southend) and of course, the Signature Brew (Haggerston, London).
Dreams Released - I had met Lola through the SIP night where she did my visuals and loved her style so much, I asked her to produce a couple of videos for me for this release and happily she said yes! The Joy Inside Us and Song of the Elven had her magical treatment and I love the visuals she produced for them (go check them out on my YouTube channel!!).
Took a while for me to get well again after Covid, so I was super happy to be able to round out the year in Southend, playing at Control Voltage, run by Al Johnson (Alien). A fab venue, and a keen, listening crowd. I had an absolute blast being back on my feet & performing for people again. Evey, Kogg and Jah Buddha were all unique and fantastic acts & I enjoyed listening to their sets.
To all the people that have come to my shows, bought or streamed my music, written lovely messages to me, come up to me at gigs to say you've enjoyed the set - I do not have enough words to express how wonderful you have all been. How grateful I am to each one of you. Each little interaction has given me such joy, given me smiles that have lasted for days and made me feel utterly blessed. Thank you with all my soul xx
Last but most definitely not least, the EMOM. And the awesome people that run the nights in various cities across the UK (and beyond!!) What an awesome group of people - I'm so grateful for everyone I have met through these nights - a unique bunch of talented, caring people. What an amazing crowd to be in! And an extra thanks to the inspiring, kind, and hugely entertaining Martin Christie - where would we be without you starting this scene off!
All in all, an awesome year, filled with meeting many amazing, talented and warm people. I feel so lucky to have been able to do what I've done, and it's all because of all of you 🙂 Looking forward to spending more time with you in 2024 & meeting yet more fantastic people!
September 2023
Time flies along! Tour starting next month - can't wait! Though also quite nervous! I want the nights to be awesome for all the people that attend and the other acts playing. It's a big responsibility!
You can get tickets for all the acts from my Eventbrite page. And details of who's playing are on my live dates page / you tube / instagram etc. So many amazing acts are supporting me doing this and I'm just so grateful for all of them! You'll be bound to hear great music from everyone - I love all the acts that are playing, they are super talented :-)
Not only do I have the tour next month... On the 6th October I'm releasing my new EP, Dreams Released. It's another collection of varied tunes. The joy inside us - melodic, soulful and uplifting beats and is a reflection on the joy I have felt in my life. It feels good ;-) Song of the Elven - this melds a fat bassline with jazzy guitar and sinister bell sounds. Think Santa's elves have taken over the party for the evening and have got into the punch... Inside the storm - a follow on to Approaching the Storm (on my debut album). It's a reflection on what it feels like to be in the middle of a whirlwind and not knowing the way forwards. And because I cannot end on dark notes, the last track is a simple lullaby no.6, named after the UDO Super 6 synth it was written on. Boy that synth is awesome... I have more coming using that toy :-)
So, plenty going on. Hope to see you on the tour!

June 2023
This month's a big one!
First up - Strawberry Fair on 3rd June! A trully awesome day out, so many great acts played at the Plastic Den stage organised by Cambridge Electronic Music. Tom S, Tom M, Paul, Martin Guy & so many other people built an awesome stage for us to play on & the atmosphere was fantastic - all great vibes :-) If you didn't make it there this year, make sure you do next! I've also stuck together a little spotify playlist from as many of the acts from the stage, so take a listen here!
Next up will be the release of my debut album - Darkest Before Dawn - on the 26th June! Wow! I'm really excited about this. I've been spending a ton of time remastering and tweaking to bring out the beauty of tracks. It will be available for streaming at all the usual places and you'll be able to buy physical copies from this website / at gigs as well.
And finally, on the 29th June, will, be the Signature Brew, Haggerston gig, backed up by the brilliant talents of Martin Christie, Qubik, Masal, Evey & Obscenity State. There's gonna be a few new albums debuting that night so it will be well worth you popping along! Links to tickets available via the live dates page & here.

Big thanks to Kev @HomeBrew Electronica Show for playing one of my tracks and promoting the June gig. You should totally take a listen to his podcast - loads of great tracks from underground electronic artists worldwide. He also has a website where you can get info on all the tracks, read interviews with the artists and get the best info on electronic music around at the moment.
Also, more thanks go out to Anam Gu Amam for remixing and producing a video for Approaching the Storm. Always super cool when people want to remix your tunes! Take a listen here and subscribe to his youtube channel.
